Megadeth jsou opět ve studiu v Californii. Dolaďují se poslední detaily, které kapela nestihla před koncertním turné Gigantour II. Připravované album vyjde v březnu 2007.

Další song z nového alba, tentokrát v lepší kvalitě "Gears of War"! Nahrávka je z koncertu v New England a umožnila nám ho sledovat MTV.

Total Guitar : Who do you see most MEGADETH influence in?

Mustaine : "I'm not sure of any particular bands that I have been able to influence, but if that's true, then I'm flattered. It is possible that bands have been influenced more by MEGADETH than METALLICA . Since the early 1980s, we have become completely different bands."

Total Guitar : Looking at the current generation of metal bands, who strikes you as being original?

Megadeth chystají pro nové album i předělávku skladby od LED ZEPPELIN „Out On The Tiles“. Dave Mustaine o ní hovoří, že to bude jedna z hlavních skladeb na "United Abominations", které by mohlo vyjít v březnu 2007. Je ale možné, že tahle skladba bude pouze jako bonus pro Japonský trh.

Pro předělávku právě od Led Zeppelin se kapela rozhodla ve studiu SARM, kde si pronajala i bicí Johna Bonhama.

V současné době koncertuje Megadeth v Austrálii, nový song Gears of War ale nehraje. Podle jednoho z fanoušků je tento song ve středním tempu a dá se přirovnat k Symphony of Destruction.
